Clarissa is aimed at helping you get back on your feet and recognize severe illnesses if they arise. Whether it’s just a common cold or something more serious, Clarissa can help you parse through your options and assure you that it’s going to be okay.

A trip to the doctor’s feels like an interrogation. You fill out forms, walk into a musty room filled with dilapidated posters, and sit on an uncomfortable bed lined with paper that crinkles with your every move. The doctor comes in soon after, probing you to figure out what’s wrong. Even if the primary purpose is to help, you can’t help but feel overwhelmed with the amount of information and questions bombarding you at once.

However, the information is crucial to your condition and the eventual diagnosis. Especially in today’s modern climate with coronavirus worries, where you’ve been, who you’ve talked to, and what symptoms you’ve been exhibiting have all become of paramount importance. And while you may not remember how you’ve been feeling, the timeline of a sickness is often as vital as the symptoms themselves. That’s why we’ve developed Clarissa, a new personalized medical assistant. She’s here to serve as an aide for any possible sickness or development, including COVID-19 and beyond. She’s equipped with natural language processing and analysis functions in order to not only help you track your symptoms in real time, but also provide possible diagnoses for a multitude of symptoms.

However, we realize an app can’t replace a doctor. That’s why Clarissa also directs you to consult a doctor or a specialist if she notices that your condition has worsened significantly. We hope that over time, Clarissa can help doctors and patients worldwide establish a better connection and make the home-to-hospital transition less jarring. Doctors can then pick up where Clarissa left off by receiving your symptom timeline and making a more accurate diagnosis based on that information. We also recognize the importance of patient confidentiality. None of the information will be shared with anyone at Clarissa or any third party users, and you can even use Clarissa as a guest if you’re not comfortable with inputting your information.

The purpose of Clarissa is not to sell your information, but to help you establish a better connection with your health. When you’re sick, the stressors keep piling up. Clarissa is aimed at helping you get back on your feet and recognize severe illnesses if they arise. Whether it’s just a common cold or something more serious, Clarissa can help you parse through your options and assure you that it’s going to be okay.
